Written Concept
This would be a 3D map overlay on top of a table with engraving an the side. the engravings would be a goat a alligator the word gainesville, duhok in kurdish and at the bottom trim the sky line of duhok and gainesville going around and fading into each other at two points. It would be made mostly of concrete cast in wood but the map would be made of glass.
Letter to the Mayor
Dear Mayor Lauren Poe,
My name is Imogene Underwood and I’m a 7th grade student at pk yonge, and i’m working on a public art installation project to represent Gainesville and Duhkos relationship.my idea is to make a table with a map overlay of our two cities with some engravings on the side. it would be mostly made of concrete so that it could be strong. the engravings would be our cities names the silowets of some important buildings as well as a gator and goat.It would be some were near city hall in Gainesville and near the mall in Duhok. i want this artwork to help show our similarities between us even though we are far apart. I’m hoping that this would help inspire people to reach out and make friends with new people
