Dear Mayor Lauren Poe,
My name is Imogene Underwood and I’m a 7th grade student at pk yonge, and i’m working on a public art installation project to represent Gainesville and Duhkos relationship.my idea is to make a table with a map overlay of our two cities with some engravings on the side. it would be mostly made of concrete so that it could be strong. the engravings would be our cities names the silowets of some important buildings as well as a gator and goat.It would be some were near city hall in Gainesville and near the mall in Duhok. i want this artwork to help show our similarities between us even though we are far apart. I’m hoping that this would help inspire people to reach out and make friends with new people
Wooden bus stop with back wall, 2 sidewall, roof, and a sitting spot, and then a city of Gainesville logo and then the Rzeszów logo and a heart.
Letter to the Mayor
Dear Mayor Poe,
Hi my name is Gavin and I go to P.K Yonge and I am doing a bus stop at the Gainesville airport because there is yet to be any art or anything like that also it would be the city of Gainesville logo and the Rzeszów but I am really looking forward to build this and show people.
I think it should be a sphere shaped earth in black and white colors to show we are all equal. And it should be 8 feet wide and made of metal it should be in front of a community center.I think if some one saw the art work they get that we are all the same.

Dear Mayor Lauren Poe,
My name is Jaden Mccray I’m in the 6th grade at P.K. Yonge and i’m designing a a work of installation art to represent the friendship between Gainesville and Rzeszow Poland.I’d like to propose a large sculpture, approximately 5 feet high, 6 feet wide, and 4 feet deep. The material for the sculpture should be steel and metal. So it can be strong and very durable during any weather.I would want my sculpture to be placed in Gainesville and Rzeszow .
I hope my artwork will inspire citizens of Gainesville to learn about Rzeszow Poland.I hope this will remind people about our different relationships in different countries. It will bring our cities closer together, it will celebrate our friendship, and it will make the world at once more wondrous and more accessible to people in Gainesville and Rzeszow poland .
A crane to represent Gainesville and a stork to represent Rzeszów. Together in the form of a heart.

Dear Mayor Lauren Poe,
My name is Kylie Newman. I’m a 6th grade student at P.K. Yonge, and I’m designing an installation artwork to represent the friendship & relationship between Gainesville and Rzeszow.
I’d like to propose a medium, maybe on the large side sculpture, approximately 6 feet high, 4 feet wide, and 2 feet deep – just about the height of a human being to inspire other artists while remaining amazing. This metal sculpture, in the form of a bird (to represent a dove which is the sister city symbol) I think this would show the relationship between Rzeszow and Gainesville. The sculpture would be metal to match most of the other sculptures around Gainesville, while also being strong and to withstand weather.
Ideally, the sculpture would be installed prominently in Gainesville and in Rzeszow. The Sister Cities Pavilion in front of City Hall would be a perfect location. If this is location is not able to happen I would like to put it somewhere in the art wing in P.k
I hope my artwork will inspire citizens and artists in Gainesville to learn about Rzeszow and its relationship with Gainsville. I hope that it will be a reminder (in art form) of our friends in other countries. When someone looks at it, I hope they think about how big the world is, and how we have friends on the other side of the world that want to meet us and share their culture with us. It will bring our cities closer together, it will celebrate our friendship, and it will make the world at once more wondrous and more accessible to the people of Rzeszow and Gainesville.
The sculpture that I am making is a 3 way swing, every direction the tire swing goes, it visit’s each sister city in the sister city logo. What inspired this is Mr.ho, and my old design. When someone sees my design, I want them to feel the such strong relation ship between these three cities and gain knowledge on it.I will have a plack next to it in order for them to gain knowledge.Well, I think my size of it will be 10 feet tall, and 15 feet wide.I want that size because I want it to be taller than the person on it, and I want it to be wide enough to fit the logo. The materials are metal, plastic, nails, screws, and paint.I want those tools because they are just practical choices to help make the swing.Nope, no decisions are made for safety, but i do think it is safe. Why I chose this shape is because it needs to go in a circle so it can visit each city.I am changing the location, I still want it in depot park, I think this sculpture really fits in with all of the surroundings.I think that my alternate location is the court yard by the clock tower, and yes, I will need to have a concrete area in order to paint, so i might have to make changes.

Dear Mayor Lauren Poe,
My name is Anderson hall.I’m a 6th grade student at P.K Yonge, and I am designing a work of installation art to represent our relationship between Gainesville,Kfar-Saba, and Qalqilya.
I would like to propose a big sculpture about 10 feet tall and 10 feet wide. This sculpture will most likely be 1 ton, is about as tall as a one story building. This project will take a lot of materials including, paint, metal, chains, plastic, and probably many more materials. This sculpture will intially look like a swing,it is not a ordinary swing though, it swings in a circle, and is held by three doves, to represent the 3 sister relationship logo( the swing itself is the little reeth that the doves are holding). When it swings in a circle, one side would be Gainesville, the other would be Qaqylia, and the last one would be Kfar-Saba(we would have to paint one side the name of one city, and on the others). It is not your ordinary swing, and I hope to help educate kids about it(it will be very safe).
What I want someone to feel when they are swinging is the strong relationship between Qalqilya,Kfar-Saba, and us.I believe that this sculpture will help educate and people about our strong relationship with us and Qalqilya(some people don’t even know what a sister city is!). How this will affect the future is that it will keep our relationship even if we drift apart, we will always have something to remember them with. Also, to help kids really know what the swing means,we will have a plaqe to help explain more.
Where I really think we should put this is in depot park,I know this will be hard to just put it there but I just think it will be the best spot to put it.This spot will help make depot park better because it will help give kids a education about other places in the world.
Thank you so much, and I hope you will consider it!(Also tell Mrs.Monda Poe I said Hi!I’m Lilly hall’s sister, and I used to go to Parker elementery school😄)
a train with guava and oranges . Gainesville and Qalqliyla. Growing yet eternal. A lasting friendship.

The goal of my artwork is to display it somewhere to show our sister city relationship between Gainesville and Santa Marta
The inspiration of my artwork is a bracelet making board that they use in Santa Marta for making bracelets
I want people to recognize the fact that we have a relationship with Santa Marta
it is a usable swing meaning it has to be somewhat tall
i will use metal as nails and wood
the shape is a swing but also a bracelet maker design
My primary location for my project is in the front circle of pk. The surrounding enhance it because it is in pk and represents pk. another location could be the front of the Kade museum

My name is Gage Riley. I am in 8th grand and im one of your students at P.K. Yonge
The goal of my artwork is to create a visual representation of our sister City/school bond with Santa Marta.
My artwork is is going to be made out of Metal poles, chain and a seat ,Wood 2x4s and will be in blue and white colors which happen to be P.K.ś school colors but also Santa Marta’s school colors as well. The artwork will represent a usable swing , being blue and being white. It will also represent a braclet making board that they use often in Santa Marta.
The location of the artwork will be in the front circle of the elementary building in that grass field. Other locations can be the bottom circle near the gym.
This will tell people that visit P.K. Yonge that our school is diverse and a great partner with other schools that might visit. It will affect us by reminding us when we see it that we have a great sister school partnership with Santa Marta. If people visit from other countries come and see the artwork , They will see it and want to be partners with P.K. Yonge because they see that we have been successful in the past with similar scenarios.
The inspiration for this artwork came from how I have never heard of this country before and then getting to know people from this country and know a lot about this country a short period of time. It came from the interest in learning about this new country. The poles have designs to represent the country with the flags in between to represent the relationship between the two. I want someone to feel like learning about a new country and get intersect right there at that moment. I want them to start getting interested and learn about the country right there. The height of the design is 10 feet by 10 feet. The materials is a heavy strong metal that will stay up in strong storms and wont fall down easily. The meaning behind this design is to make someone want to learn and get interested in learning about new country’s. The primary location would be somewhere were people go to learn like either school or the natural history museum. One other place this could be at is either places city hall.

Please see the attached drawings for more detail.
Ideally, the sculpture would be installed prominently in both Gainesville and Nayrn. The Sister Cities Pavilion in front of City Hall on the side walk in Gainesville would be a perfect location. The proposed location in Nayrn is yet to be determined.
I hope my artwork will show the connection between Nayrn and Gainesville.
